Autumn in Japan: A Season of Red, Amber and Gold

Korakuen, Okayama

“Autumn poses the question we all have to live with: How to hold on to the things we love even though we know that we and they are dying. How to see the world as it is, yet find light within that truth.”Pico Iyer, Autumn Light

The only distinct season we have in Singapore is summer. Hence, the lack of synchronisation with the rhythm of nature makes the passage of time a blur, for it passes without the notion of a beginning or an end. One can feel lost, dreary and without a sense of renewal or direction.  Autumn is thus the season for reflection, a time to look at oneself in the mirror and take stock of our life. In 2019, we made the journey to capture the season of red, amber and gold in Japan. This is our photo board.
