After arguably one of the finest World Cup final in history, Argentinian fans poured from the Parisian cafes and marched in the rain to celebrate a dramatic victory. πŸ₯‡βš½πŸ†πŸ‡¦πŸ‡· Vs πŸ‡¨πŸ‡΅

A decadent melting pot of foodprints across Oxford, Bicester, Salisbury, Bath and the Cotswolds earlier in the week, interspersed with golden exciting World Cup fireside chats and cosy UK holiday movies over hot tea and chocolate, left us bellyful and heart heavy (in all senses) on our last day of this return leg to England since 2012. So much older now, but as Adele croons, 'it was just like a movie, it was just like a song'...

A night of full moon over the English Channel takes on poetic significance of a different kind as we watch the last 3 minutes of the World Cup clash between England and France. As this World Cup has shown, it ain't over till it's over, so who will it be?

The most interesting parts of our time in Oxford University town were not really in the pictures - Michaelmas term had just ended for students, the day of our walk was frigid and grey, and we couldn't get a glimpse of Evensong in Magdalen, Christ Church or the Bodleian catacombs - but the funny, scandalous and sometimes ridiculous stories of college admissions and life, rivalries and boycott, Tolkien, CS Lewis and H. Potter inspirations, as well as eventful πŸ‘‘ religious history told by Izi, Oxford Native and a fourth year New College major in French and Philosophy, more than made up for it. We are deeply sorry for the definitive loss of Rosa Luxembourg 🐒, pray for the continued presence of Simpkins πŸˆβ€β¬›οΈ and wholeheartedly support hanging a 'sorry' placard on Rhodes, at minimum. ☹️
